Week3: Photos & Images 5 & 6

Exploring Flickr is amazing and so time consuming, the afternoon has just disappeared. I am very impressed with "tagging", this allows you complete freedom of a subject of your choice and gives you the opportunity to "share" photos with family and friends.
Well as I am a car buff, yes I searched Flickr to see how many photos of "Rover cars" were listed and I had 1,856 hits, if I typed in "Rover Turbine" I had 10 hits, Rover engineers worked on this project in their spare time. They went home and made parts prototypes from papier mache.
Sadly their project was eclipsed by Chrysler's own gas turbine car, which of course had the full backing and finance of Chrysler.

I played with Flickr Color Pickr and what a site, magnificient photos and breath taking colours you could spend hours looking at all the wonderful photos.
Flickr is certainly a wonderful tool for any individual who has access to the internet.

Stay tuned for the next session and happy Rovering

Week 1: Introduction & Week 2: Blogging

Well I finally made it, took me a while to actually sit down and listern to Learning 2.o But one must always check the equipment and ensure the speakers are turned on - you know that on and off button!

  • The 7 & 1/2 Habits online tutorial was very interesting as we are constantly utilising all the Habits that was stated.
  • If you have a goal keep on going until it is achievable.
  • Have confidence and believe in yourself to achieve your goal no matter what it is. If you are not sure ask, someone will be able to point you in the right direction.
  • Learn by your mistakes, everybody makes mistakes which is part of the learning curve of life.
  • Technology is here to stay, embrace it, don't shy aware and say "I can't do it", never, never say can't.
  • Enjoy life and keep on learning that what makes the world such a wonderful and exciting place to life in.
  • Accept responsibility in your own learning, sign up for an evening class, read a book on how to knit or whatever.
As an Internet trainer I really enjoy Habit number 7 1/2 as I am constantly advising the patrons who come to my classes to "PLAY". It gives me much pleasure when I see patrons who have come to my classes, being able to use the Internet, send emails and attachments without feeling they have being left behind in the 21st Century.

I am also learning the new 21st Century technology, with the help of members of staff and patrons I am jumping on the learning curve, but the most important aspect of this wonderful learning tool is to "ENJOY AND PLAY ".

Stay tuned and Happy Rovering

This is my first attemp at a "Blog" something very new and
hopefully interesting. I decided to call my blog "Rover". Now a number of staff may have already guessed who is the owner of this blog and yes it is Jane Pet.

I have been involved with the Rover Car Club for over twenty years have made some wonderful friendships, visited numerous places in Victoria and other states.

I really like to drive the P5B (which is the picture on the left) you are up high and this is a very safe and sturdy car. They call this model the "poor man's Rolls Royce".

I also enjoy driving the SEII (top picture).

Hope you enjoy my blog and happy Rovering.
